Over the past day, on February 15, not a single person died as a result of an accident on the territory of Ukraine.
This information was announced by the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko during a speech at the #UA unity marathon.
– Only on Monday and Tuesday the number of road accidents in the country decreased by 46%. For the first time in many years for a country of 40 million, yesterday we did not have a single death as a result of an accident. There was one dead yesterday. If you look at a week ago, we had 13 road accident victims two days later,” he said.
According to official data, during February 14-15, 2022, the total number of accidents in Ukraine decreased by 46%.
For many years, the most common causes of road accidents in Ukraine remain:
- exceeding the safe and established speed of movement;
- unsuccessful maneuvering;
- violation of the rules of passage of intersections;
- ignoring pedestrian crossings;
- distancing.
