The Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development officially approved the application of Article 8.3 of the charter to suspend access of Russia and Belarus to the resources of the bank.
On this today, 4 April, said Artem Shevalev, member of the board of directors of the bank from Ukraine, on his Facebook page.
“The absolute majority of the bank's shareholder countries, which is 94.85% of the votes in the bank's capital, voted for this decision,” he said. Shevalev.
He added that for the first time in the history of the EBRD, the leaders took such a step.
“And the EBRD became the first international organization to make such a decision. Yes , this is not a complete expulsion from the civilized world for these criminal countries, but a very important first step,” Shevalev wrote.
Recall that at the end of March, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced the closure representative offices in Moscow and Minsk.
