The Russian government will allocate 7 billion rubles from the Reserve Fund for patriotism on the Internet.
The money will go to Internet projects that form “civic identity and spiritual and moral values among young people,” according to the materials of the Federal Treasury.
The funds will be transferred by the Institute of Internet Development ANO. The budget has already allocated 3 billion rubles for these purposes. ANO CEO Anton Klyuchkin told RBC that by the end of the year it is planned to support at least 200 Internet projects for an additional 7 billion rubles. A source in the presidential administration added that it is not necessary to spend money until the end of the year.
Among the interested parties, the head of ANO named the National Media Group, Gazprom-Media, VGTRK, Channel One, RT, Yandex and other “major market players.” In 2022, funding for the project can be increased by 1.5 times, in the future – doubled, said a source in the AP.
The success of Internet projects will be monitored by the Supervisory Board, which is headed by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko. Ideas will be selected and implemented by the Producer Council headed by Vyacheslav Murugov, Deputy Director General of the National Media Group for Entertainment Broadcasting. The council will include large producers of video content, producers working with Russian social networks, representatives of the Cinema Fund.
