The Salzburg player's symptoms worsened under stress, which is why he will not make the trip to the Faroe Islands.
Andreas Ulmer is now out for the World Cup qualifiers of the Austrian national soccer team on Saturday in Torshavn against the Faroe Islands and on the following Tuesday in Copenhagen against Denmark. As the ÖFB announced on Tuesday evening, there was again a significant worsening of the symptoms of the flu infection during the course of the day under physical strain. It was therefore decided that the left-back would not join the team.
There were no subsequent nominations, at least for the time being. Originally it was said that Ulmer would travel to the team on Tuesday evening. Now the left-back is the tenth failure for team boss Franco Foda. Also not available are Marko Arnautovic, Aleksandar Dragovic, Sasa Kalajdzic, Xaver Schlager, Stefan Lainer, Julian Baumgartlinger, Christoph Baumgartner, Philipp Lienhart and Valentino Lazaro.
