There is already information about which processor Qualcomm will present at the end of 2022. It will be the Snapdragon 895 Plus and sources say it will be manufactured using 4nm technology at TSMC's factory. It is this company that also makes chipsets for Apple.
An insider Ice Universe said that Qualcomm will use the Korean Samsung factory for mass production of the regular version of the Snapdragon 895. But the Snapdragon 895 Plus will be ordered by Taiwanese TSMC. One of the reasons the Taiwanese chipmaker is not accepting orders from Qualcomm is the ongoing shortage right now. In addition, TSMC prioritizes Apple orders. It has even been claimed that Apple has already reserved initial shipments of 4nm chipsets for the upcoming iPhones, iPads and Macs.
However, Qualcomm will likely be able to secure orders for 4nm chips from TSMC in the second half of 2022 if the chip shortage narrows.
