“First, someone has to die”: Zelensky disappointed with Biden's decision to strike Russia

US President Joe Biden refused to lift restrictions on the use of American weapons.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about allowing the use of US weapons for strikes on Russian territory at the end of a bilateral discussion with his American counterpart Joe Biden, to which he replied that both sides should continue to discuss this issue.

Politico writes about this with reference to anonymous sources familiar with the situation.

One of the publication’s interlocutors emphasized that the White House’s decision regarding lifting restrictions on the use of American weapons is not final, but it is still far from receiving a “yes” answer.

According to the publication, Vladimir Zelensky and the head of his administration Andriy Ermak were extremely disappointed with the results of this conversation.

“The feeling is always the same: the restrictions will eventually be lifted, but first someone has to die. It seems that destroying the children's hospital is not enough,” the source noted.

At the same time, Biden himself said during his press conference that it was he who responded to Zelensky.

“If he had the opportunity to strike Moscow, strike the Kremlin, it would make sense? No,” the US President explained his position.

Recall that United States President Joe Biden mistakenly called Zelensky “Putin.” This happened during the American leader’s speech at the Ukraine Compact event on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington.

President Vladimir Zelensky, during his visit to Ireland, called the US President’s reservation a “mistake” that can be forgotten.
