The first free practice session for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was canceled on Friday morning after a serious crash.
After a good 37 minutes, the marshals waved the red flags on the Italian circuit, breaking off the first practice session for the second Grand Prix of the season.
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez had spun off the track before, the rubber on the left rear tire had come off the rim. A few meters further on, Alpine driver Esteban Ocon parked his car with a broken wheel suspension on the front right.
The two cars may have collided, but the “FOM” responsible for the TV pictures was unable to clear up the scene.
After a ten-minute break, the session could be resumed.
