Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini

The world recorded the first death from coronavirus among heads of state. The first victim of COVID-19 among world leaders was the Prime Minister of the African state, Eswatini Mandvulo Ambrose Dlamini, writes the Daily Mail on Monday, December 14.

The 52-year-old politician was diagnosed with coronavirus back in mid-November, but then it was stated that he had no symptoms of the disease and that he was feeling well. In early December, Dlamini's condition deteriorated sharply, and he was forced to be taken to a hospital in neighboring South Africa. The prime minister spent about two weeks there, after which he died.

King Eswatini Mswati III expressed his condolences over the death of the politician.

Dlamini was born in 1968 in the village of Mbekelveni in the central part of Eswatini, which at that time was called Swaziland. For a long time he worked in banking structures, he held the post of the head of the government of the country since October 2018.

Previously, the coronavirus was detected in US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. In addition, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin were ill with COVID-19.
