Trump demands CNN reporter be fired over Iran strike report.
US President Donald Trump has lashed out at CNN journalist Natasha Bertrand and called for her to be “thrown out like a dog.”
The head of the White House wrote about this on his page in Truth Social.
Trump was outraged by her material, which gave a skeptical assessment of the results of the strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
“Natasha Bertrand should be fired from CNN. I've watched her for three days – nothing but Fake News. She should be reprimanded immediately and then thrown out like a dog. She lied about the 'laptop from hell' story and now she's lied about the nuclear facilities story… She should not be allowed to work at 'Fake News' CNN. It is because of people like her that this once great network has lost its reputation,” the US president wrote.
CNN's editorial board expressed support for the journalist and her colleagues in a comment to The Hill. The media outlet also emphasized that it considers it inappropriate for Trump to criticize its journalists for “accurate reporting and accurate characterization of findings of public interest.”
Recall that an internal US intelligence assessment was leaked online, which indicates that the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities was not as successful as President Trump claimed.
Trump reacted angrily to these reports.
Amid the leak scandal, the US presidential administration will limit the exchange of classified information with Congress.
