The leadership of Ivano-Frankivsk region published a video from the Kosovo central hospital, where on the evening of December 28, people were killed and injured in a fire.

– Unfortunately, we lost people due to security breaches. Human life is most valuable. We understand that there are certain property losses, but we will resolve this issue. The worst thing is that such a tragedy happened and people died, – said the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration Svetlana Onischuk.

Now the regional authorities are talking with the hospital management to find out the need for money for the fastest possible recovery of the Kosovo Central District Hospital, which is one of the 26 medical institutions in the region providing care for patients with coronavirus.

According to preliminary estimates, more than UAH 7 million is needed to restore the branch . For these funds, it is planned to carry out repair work and purchase medical equipment.

A fire in the ward of the intensive care unit of the Kosovo central regional hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk region occurred on the evening of December 28.

Three patients died, one died from coronavirus before the fire. Three more doctors were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Subsequently, it became known that the nurse, who had 90% of burns on the body, died.

Another nurse with 60% of the injuries was taken by plane from Ivano-Frankivsk to Kiev. She is being treated in a burn center.

A resuscitator with 20% of body burns is treated in Ivano-Frankivsk.

December 30 in Kosovo declared a day of mourning for the dead.

It is previously known that the fire broke out due to contact with oxygen-saturated air, when one of the employees, according to the tradition of the medical institution, lit a candle for the repose of the deceased from the coronavirus.

The prosecutor's office began criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of fire safety requirements .

The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison. Investigative actions are currently underway.
