Finnish Prime Minister returned money to the budget for her family's breakfasts
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has decided to return the money spent on breakfast at the expense of taxpayers to the country's budget, the local newspaper Ilta-Sanomat writes.
“The Prime Minister paid more than 10 thousand euros for breakfasts from the budget for 2020,” the publication emphasizes.
The head of government plans to return the money spent on food for her family members in 2021 by the end of the summer.
Sanna Marin made the decision to voluntarily reimburse the budget funds spent by her after the media found out that the prime minister's family spends about 300 euros a month on breakfast at the residence of the head of government. According to the woman, she thought it was normal practice for the prime ministers of Suomi. However, there is no clause in Finnish legislation on the purchase of food for the head of government.
Recall that Sanna Marin was elected Prime Minister of Finland in December 2019. She became the youngest head of the Cabinet of Ministers in the world.
