Finnish journalist Pekka Jalonen spoke on Twitter about the performance of the Russian national hockey team at the Channel One Cup.
Yalonen was outraged that the referees counted the second goal of the Russians against Finland, as it was thrown in violation of the rules. “The judges twice determined that there was a hindrance to the goalkeeper. But Russia is used to cheating, ”he wrote. The journalist also called the Russian hockey players losers and was glad that the Finns beat the team in Moscow.
On December 19, the Russian national team lost to Finland in the final match of the Channel One Cup with a score of 2: 3 in overtime. As a result, the national team of Finland became the winner of the tournament. Head coach Alexei Zhamnov, commenting on the performance of the Russians, said that he was satisfied with their level.
The Channel One Cup is the home stage of the Euro Hockey Tour for the Russian national team. The next stage will be the Beijer games in Sweden.
