Coast Guard Deputy Commander Mikko Hirvi confirms that after Torden was fired, the Border Guard detained him under the Aliens Act and placed him in a temporary detention center.

“We will find out the conditions of his stay in the country,” Hirvi said.

Torden is included in the EU sanctions list under his former name Jan Petrovsky and is banned from entering Finland.

According to Natalia Malgina, who represents Torden’s interests, the Russian has a valid residence permit in Finland based on his wife’s studies. Malgina added that Torden has submitted an application for asylum, but its consideration has not yet been completed.

Those wanted were involved in armed attacks on units of the ATO forces, in particular, on September 5, 2014 near Shchastya, Lugansk region, as a result of which soldiers of the 24th separate assault battalion “Aidar” and the 80th separate airborne battalion were killed. assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Milchakov and Petrovsky were informed of suspicion of participation in a terrorist organization.

Who is Yan Petrovsky

Yan Petrovsky was born in St. Petersburg in 1987; in his youth he lived for a long time in Norway. There he was known for his connections in far-right circles. In particular, he participated in the Norwegian anti-migrant group “Soldiers of Odin”.

In addition, Petrovsky took part in the war in Syria as part of a group that fought on the side of the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

In 2016, Norway deported Petrovsky to Russia due to threats to its security.

Jan Petrovsky, arrested in Finland, is currently under sanctions from the EU, USA, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and Ukraine. He was also banned from entering Finland.

The EU says that Petrovsky is responsible for actions that threaten the sovereignty and independence, as well as the security of Ukraine. According to the US Treasury Department, since 2022 Petrovsky has served as commander of the Russian neo-Nazi paramilitary group Rusich.

DSHRG “Rusich”: what is known

According to the GPU, “Rusich” was formed in June 2014 mainly from Russian citizens with sadistic inclinations, professing an outright neo-Nazi, fascist ideology, the main goal of which was the destruction of Ukrainians in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

“Rusich” has connections with the Russian PMC “Wagner”. The Russian neo-Nazi paramilitary group has been involved in the war against Ukraine since 2014, including after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
