“The government’s decision on Wednesday (November 23 – Ed.) to close almost all border crossings on the eastern border reversed the previous decision, according to which the border points of Vaalimaa, Nuijamaa, Imatra and Niirala would be closed until February 18, 2024,” the Finnish said. According to the head of the Finnish border guard, Rear Admiral Markku Hassinen, it was decided that a deadline of about one month would be correct “given the tight restrictions.”

By the way, by strict restrictions it means that almost the entire eastern border with the Russian Federation is closed. Finland motivated its actions with the mass entry of emigrants from third countries to the Finnish border, organized by the Russian side.

Let us remind you that Finland has massed troops to the border with the Russian Federation. It is also known that the European Union border agency Frontex will send officers and equipment to patrol the administrative border to Finland.

Also in Finland, temporary fences against migrants are being erected near the border with the Russian Federation. The temporary barrier is being used to prepare for a prolonged situation at Vartius.
