The Finnish authorities have issued several hundred permits to evade sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved 200 out of about 500 requests to evade anti-Russian sanctions since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This was stated by the head of the group on sanctions issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Advisor for Foreign Affairs Pia Sarivaara, writes Yle.
“In the cases we deal with, permission is usually asked to evade personal sanctions, that is, so-called financial sanctions, we are also talking about permission to transfer money,” she noted.
According to Pia Sarivaara, the sanctioned person could obtain permission to use frozen funds to pay payments for real estate. These are also permits related to sale of business in Russia.
“When a Finnish company sells its subsidiary in Russia and if the subsidiary's sales company transfers sanctioned products to a new buyer, such transfer of products to the new owner must be approved,” Sarivaara said. < /p>
However, more than 300 requests for permits were rejected or left without consideration. In particular, no permission was granted to pay a pension to the displaced person.
Recall that earlier Finnish customs discovered that two Finnish companies exported sanctioned military goods to Russia. Among them are drones and electronics.
