Finland has decided to offer a platform for talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the country's President Sauli Niiniste.

“If Finland is asked to provide services (a place for the meeting of Lavrov and Blinken, — approx. “Lenta.ru” ), Finland is ready to do it,” the head of state said.

Earlier it was reported that Blinken offered Lavrov to hold a new meeting in Europe next week. He believes that this will be the basis for a summit of leaders of key world powers to de-escalate the conflict in Ukraine. The Secretary of State added that as part of the negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, Washington proposes to hold “meetings within the framework of the Russia-NATO Council and the OSCE Permanent Council.”
