Fico threatens to block aid to Ukraine unless his condition is met

Slovakia maintains support for Ukraine, but Fico warned of possible use of EU veto to support Kyiv.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said the country will not stop supplying energy and humanitarian aid to Ukraine in response to the suspension of gas transit through the territory Slovakia.

It is reported that at the same time Slovakia intends to use its veto power in the European Union if the issue concerns support for Ukraine. Fico stressed that it is important for Slovakia to restore gas transit, but humanitarian aid will continue.
