Fico made his first statements after the assassination attempt

Slovak President-elect Peter Pellegrini reported on his conversation with the wounded Slovak Prime Minister.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico remembers everything that happened during the attempt on his life. After being wounded and taken to the hospital, he was conscious.

This was announced by the elected president of the country and ally of the Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini on TV channel TA3.

Pellegrini, who began his political career with Fico, visited the head of government in the hospital in Banska Bystrica, where he is recovering from an injury, and was able to talk with him for a few minutes.

“The Prime Minister remembers what happened. He was surprised at how quickly everything happened,” the president-elect said.

Although Fico remains in serious condition, he is stable, conscious and able to communicate.

Pellegrini noted that he was only able to speak with Fico for a few moments minutes, since the Prime Minister is very tired and under the influence of medicine.

According to him, the wounded politician was conscious the entire time until he was given sedatives before the operation.

“He remembers everything: that he received first aid, which was transported from Gandlova by helicopter to Banska Bystrica, that he was treated by emergency medical teams, and that he was given a sedative in the operating room. By then he was conscious,” Pellegrini said.

According to him, Robert Fico miraculously survived the assassination attempt.

“If the bullets had hit a few centimeters closer to other vital organs, we would be talking about something else. I was only allowed to talk to him for a few minutes because his health condition really requires silence,” Pellegrini said.

Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday that his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico is “between life and death” after an assassination attempt on him.
