Ferrari with profit decline in pandemic year 2020

Sales have shrunk by nine percent and the number of units sold has fallen below 10,000.

The Italian sports car maker Ferrari will be hard hit by the effects of the 2020 pandemic year.

The Maranello carmaker reported a decline in net profit of 13 percent to 609 million euros compared to 2019. Sales fell by 8.9 percent to 3.46 billion euros, the group announced on Tuesday.

EBITDA (operating profit) fell by 10 percent to 1.143 billion euros. Ferrari, which in 2019 cracked the threshold of 10,000 cars sold for the first time and sold 10,131 cars, was only able to sell 9,119 cars in 2020.

Growth in 2021

That is ten percent less than last year. Ferrari expects sales to grow to EUR 4.3 billion in 2021 and an adjusted EBITDA of between EUR 1.45 billion and EUR 1.5 billion.
