The agency's report claims that Prigozhin is wanted for alleged involvement in a conspiracy against the United States to obstruct the work of the US Federal Election Commission. According to the FBI, the businessman was the main sponsor of the Internet Research Agency (IRA) and personally approved the structure's interference in the American elections.

In addition, the official Twitter account of the FBI published photos of 12 more Russians, who are also accused of having links with the IRA. For information about them, a reward was also offered, but more modest – up to 75 thousand dollars.

Earlier it became known that the FBI offered a reward of up to 250 thousand dollars for information about the wanted Russian Konstantin Kilimnik. It is indicated that Kilimnik worked as a liaison between Ukrainian and Russian businessmen and politicians and was involved in a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign launched by the Ukrainian state in the United States in violation of the law. He is believed to be working for Russian intelligence.
