The US Federal Bureau of Intelligence has reported that 19-year-old Alexander Treisman was plotting the assassination of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Writes about this The Washington Post.
The American who was preparing the assassination attempt was detained in the spring of this year, but the details of this case are being published now. Sources of the publication said that in April Treisman posted a certain Internet meme with the caption, “Should I kill Joe Biden?”
It turned out that the young man was not joking: his search queries included Biden's home address and night vision goggles. At some point, he traveled to a neighboring state and purchased an AR-15 assault rifle. He was detained after he was seen at Wendy's restaurant several kilometers away
During the arrest, five firearms, explosives, manuals for the manufacture of explosive devices and $ 509,000 in cash were found in his car: it is suspected that Treisman inherited the money. In addition, the security forces found three hard drives with thousands of files with child pornography on them. The suspect denies charges of possession of prohibited materials.
Treisman has not previously been convicted or caught on crimes. Some evidence suggests that after the murder of the politician, he intended to flee abroad. His lawyer said that the young man suffers from a mental disorder – Asperger's syndrome.
