Reddit user HallNum032 told the story of how he caught his daughter in a lie and punished her. The man watched the CCTV footage, and then forced the teenager to sleep in the backyard of the house. Some commentators considered his punishment cruel.
The 46-year-old father said his 16-year-old daughter is in high school. Recently, she began to behave incorrectly in relation to her interlocutors: the teenager constantly calls other people names, and also comments on their appearance and things. The maid, whom the girl regularly insulted, suffered the hardest. Once the girl even called the housekeeper disgusting.
“I took a firm stand and told my daughter bluntly that I would punish her if she said something like that to our maid again,” HallNum032 said. However, his words did not help: the girl continued to call the cleaning lady. The father had to take action – he forbade the teenager to go to the long-awaited party, after which the girl threw a tantrum.
A few days later, the daughter approached the author of the post and said that she could not find her smartphone. She asked her father to call her to determine the location of the device by sound.
“My wife and I were stunned to find that the iPhone rang in our maid's bag. I immediately began to sort things out with the housekeeper: she denied everything and cried, saying that she had never touched the phone and had no idea how he got there, ”the hero of the story recounted the situation. Then he decided to check the video surveillance cameras installed in the house: on the recordings, the man saw his daughter putting the smartphone in the maid's bag.
As a punishment, HallNum032 forced his daughter to spend the night in the backyard. He chose this sanction because the girl said she was afraid of germs and insects.
“She cried, begging me not to make her sleep in the heat, with dirt and insects. I refused to discuss this, otherwise I promised to increase the sentence to two nights, ”the author of the post said.
