FAS opened a case against Yandex

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) opened a case against Yandex for failure to comply with the requirements for changing search results. This is stated in a message on the agency's website.

“The organization did not comply with the warning of the antimonopoly authority and continues to create discriminatory conditions in the Internet search market,” the statement said.

According to the report, the agency is investigating possible anticompetitive practices of Yandex in search results, as well as the possible consequences of such practices. “If the fact of violation and restriction of competition is established, the company may be assigned a turnover fine from the amount of revenue in the market,” the message says.

Earlier, the FAS issued a warning to Yandex for unequal conditions in search results. The service obliged Yandex to post the conditions for gaining access to such opportunities for third-party services. In addition, the company must inform the FAS about the measures taken, as well as provide the relevant documents.
