FAS filed a case against Yandex due to discrimination against third-party services

The Federal Antimonopoly Service opened a case against the company for discriminating against third-party services in Yandex search. This was reported in the press service of the department.

The message says that “the organization did not comply with the warning issued by the antimonopoly authority and continues to create discriminatory conditions in the Internet search market. The FAS intends to investigate possible “anticompetitive practices” of “Yandex” in search results.

The company faces a fine of up to 0.15 percent of revenue if the fact of restricting competition is confirmed.

In February, the FAS obliged the search engine to provide third-party services with access to the same special features in the search engine that its own resources have.

However, Yandex did not agree with the charge of restricting competition and expressed its readiness to defend its position. This was reported to TASS by the organization's press service.

In connection with the incident, Yandex shares on Tuesday accelerated their decline to 7.1 percent. At the trading on the Moscow Exchange, the cost of one security at the moment reached 4,510.

Earlier it was reported that for violating antitrust laws, China's government market control agency fined Alibaba $ 2.78 billion. An investigation confirmed that Alibaba was pursuing a policy of forcing the consumer to use its services.
