Former Prime Minister Mark Rutte's Conservative Party comes in third.

Early elections were held in the Netherlands , in which, according to the exit poll, the far-right populist Freedom Party (PVV), led by pro-Russian politician Geert Wilders, is winning.

This was reported by the NOS portal with reference to Ipsos exit poll data.

The PVV is reported to win 35 seats in parliament out of 150, a result double that of last year's elections.

In second place is the Alliance of Labor and Green Left, led by ex-Euro Commissioner Frans Timmermans – they get 25 seats. Third place goes to the VVD, the conservative party of former Prime Minister Mark Rutte. It gains 24 places, ten less than in 2021.

Wilders consistently opposes any support for Ukraine and also calls for the Netherlands to leave the European Union.

Let us recall that it was previously reported that pro-Russian politician Thierry Baudet was attacked in a pub in the Dutch city of Groningen during an election event .

In addition, we previously reported that the Dutch authorities want to check the Russian taxi application Yango, owned by Yandex, regarding the transfer of customer data to the FSB .
