Family of black man killed by police to receive $ 12 million

by alex

Authorities in Louisville, Kentucky have pledged to pay $ 12 million to the family of a black American woman, Breonna Taylor, who was shot dead by police in March. This was reported by CNN, citing family lawyer Sam Aguilar.

According to him, the head of the city, Greg Fisher, is expected to announce the settlement of the relevant lawsuit on Tuesday, September 15, during a joint press conference with lawyers representing the interests of the family.

In June, one of three police officers involved in the shootout that resulted in Taylor's murder was fired. Police Chief Robert Schroeder's letter indicates that the actions of police officer Bret Hankins showed absolute indifference to the value of human life when he fired ten shots at Taylor's apartment “arbitrarily and blindly”.

26-year-old ambulance worker Breonna Taylor was killed by police officers who shot the girl eight times after breaking into her home in Louisville. The police detained residents of a neighboring house on suspicion of drug dealing, and they had a tip that drugs may be stored in Taylor's house. The family of the murdered girl filed a lawsuit about police misconduct, who were never punished.
