WhatsApp introduced end-to-end messaging back in 2016. On the one hand, with its help, the company was able to protect user chats from outside interference. On the other hand, Facebook, which owns the messenger, has lost the ability to integrate personalized ads into them.

If Facebook is able to achieve success in this area, the company will be able to implement advertising based on the topic of correspondence in absolutely all conversations within WhatsApp.
And given that in recent years the social network has been attracting artificial intelligence specialists with might and main to advance in homomorphic encryption, it has every chance of achieving what it wants.
