Facebook has announced new features that will make it easier for users to navigate chronologically in the news feed. This was said in a statement.
A dedicated Feed Filter Bar will appear to make it easier to switch between an algorithmic ranking feed and a feed sorted in chronological order. It will appear at the top when scrolling through the news feed.
The company ditched the chronological news feed in 2009, opting for a ranked algorithm. The chronological mode option remained, but was hidden in the settings menu.
Another innovation will be the ability to add up to 30 pages of people or organizations to the Favorites list. This will allow their posts to appear higher in the news feed if it is in ranked mode.
In addition, Facebook will add a feature to limit comments on posts. You can choose – everyone, friends or specific people or pages that are marked in the post.
For Android users, new features are already available, iOS users will have to wait a few weeks, says Facebook.
