Moscow. May 27. INTERFAX.RU – Facebook will no longer delete posts on the social network about the artificial origin of COVID-19, because the investigation into this issue continues, the Associated Press reports.
“We continue to work with health experts to keep pace with the changing nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge,” said Facebook VP Guy Rosen.
Facebook announced in February that it is banning posts claiming that the coronavirus was allegedly created in a Chinese laboratory and the ineffectiveness or toxicity of vaccines. But after US President Joe Biden asked intelligence to “redouble” its efforts to find the source of COVID-19 and, among other things, to consider “China issues,” the company decided to rethink its policy.
A WHO expert group previously visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The visit report concluded that a virus leak from the institute's laboratory was “highly unlikely.”
However, US media reported earlier in May that US intelligence services are currently investigating reports that several employees in a laboratory in Wuhan became seriously ill in 2019, even before the Chinese authorities announced the first case of coronavirus. In China, this version was rejected.
