Facebook spokesman did not confirm media reports of name change
A Facebook spokesman said the company would not comment on media reports about the social network's name change, according to The Guardian.
“The company does not comment on rumors or speculation,” a source quoted a Facebook spokesman as saying.
Earlier, the Verge portal reported that the corporation, which owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram, as well as the WhatsApp messenger, plans to change its name and will inform about its decision during the conference on October 28. It was noted that the new name can be correlated with Horizon, an augmented reality technology that Facebook has been doing in recent years.
On the eve it became known that Facebook will pay 4.75 million dollars as a fine in the course of proceedings on discrimination, another 9.5 million dollars may be required as compensation for victims of alleged discrimination.
