A Moscow court ordered the bailiffs to collect 26 million rubles ($ 1.2 million) in administrative fines from Facebook. At the end of September 2021, the American corporation asked the court to postpone the payment of the imposed fine due to “technical problems.” The court agreed to postpone the trial until October 4. In total, in 2021, Roskomnadzor drew up 20 protocols against the social network for failure to delete prohibited content.
“Due to the lack of information about the voluntary execution of the decisions that have entered into legal force … orders have been sent to the bailiffs service on the execution of the court decisions that have entered into legal force,” RIA Novosti was told in court.
According to Izvestia, in 2021, the court imposed fines on Facebook in the total amount of about 70 million rubles, of which court decisions for 43 million rubles have already entered into force. Roskomnadzor noted that the Facebook administration refused to voluntarily pay fines.
Earlier, “Secret” wrote that Facebook may receive a fine in Russia in the amount of 5-10% of its annual turnover for repeated failure to delete prohibited data. The Russian social network revenue is estimated at around 12 billion rubles. Roskomnadzor summoned the company's representatives to draw up a protocol on the violation of the law. Then the document will be sent to the court, which will determine the amount of the fine.
