Facebook refused to pay multimillion-dollar fine

The American company Facebook refused to take advantage of the judicial adjournment and did not pay a multimillion-dollar fine for refusing to remove content prohibited in Russia. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow.

“Due to the lack of information on the voluntary execution of the decisions of the magistrate of the judicial district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow dated May 25, which entered into legal force, which on Facebook Inc. administrative fines were imposed in the amount of a total of 26 million rubles in eight cases for committing administrative offenses provided for by part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (refusal to delete information, the deletion of which is mandatory in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation), orders were sent to the bailiff service on the execution of those who entered into the validity of court orders, ”the official statement said.

On September 29, it was reported that Facebook asked the Russian court to increase the payment deadline for the imposed fine of 26 million rubles.
