Roskomnadzor demanded that the social network Facebook remove fraudulent ads using the symbols of the Roscosmos corporation.
This is stated on the website of the department.
“Roskomnadzor sent a letter to the management of Facebook Inc demanding to take measures to remove and prevent the spread of fraudulent advertisements on the social network Facebook using the official name and symbols of the Russian state corporation Roscosmos,” the message says.
According to the Russian department, in the corresponding fraudulent advertisements, people are invited to register to participate in the alleged Roscosmos project, which allows them to make money on the stock markets. When registering, the user is required to provide bank information, with the help of which money is ultimately stolen.
At the same time, Roskomnadzor also demanded from the company's management to check and bring the mechanisms of moderation and pre-moderation of the posted content in line with Russian law.
Earlier, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow ruled to fine the American services Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter in the total amount of 36 million rubles for the fact that they did not localize the personal data of citizens in Russia.
