Belgium promises to transfer the first batch of F-16 fighters to Ukraine.

Ukraine will only be able to use F-16 fighters from Western partners to strike on their territory.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo spoke about this at a press conference on Tuesday, May 28.

“Everything that is included in our agreement , it is clearly stated there that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use this on Ukrainian territory,” he emphasized.

In turn, the prime minister called this “an important signal.”

“We will do our best to provide some aircraft this year and this could be a good contribution to helping other countries also provide F-16s this year. This is a very important signal, to make it clear – Ukraine will have full air capability with these fighters this year and in subsequent years.

Recall that earlier it became known that Belgium will transfer 30 modern fighters to Ukraine F-16 by 2028.
