Experts: Security officials have found a new way to control Russians

by alex

Experts said that the new anti-fraudulent database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will allow collecting data on Russians. The information received can be used for selfish purposes by unscrupulous employees. This is the opinion of Andrei Masalovich, president of the consortium “Inforus”, an expert in the field of cybersecurity. He is quoted by URA.RU.

“The base being created will help in solving crimes, this is a step in the right direction. Of course, as in the case of any database, in parallel with the tasks set, it will be used to profile user behavior, analyze and collect additional information, ”the expert said.

He believes that the base will be well protected, but leaks will occur not because of hacking, hacking, but because of unscrupulous employees who can use access for personal gain.

“They can respond to private inquiries and then use the received data,” Masalovich said.

IT security specialist, hacker Dmitry Artimovich believes that the creation of such a database is useless for Russians.

“It is not very clear what the department is doing in a fundamentally new way. When fraudsters call, they replace their number with the number of an official organization – for example, a bank, so the base will not work, ”said Artimovich.

According to him, mobile operators already have the Antispam service, and it is much more convenient. Artimovich suggested to the Ministry of Internal Affairs “not to make an application, but to work with mobile operators”.

The Interior Ministry has not yet commented on the fears of experts.

Previously, Rambler reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is creating the Anti-Fraud service. It will warn citizens about calls and messages from scammers from numbers from which illegal actions have already been committed. The application will have a “white list” where the user himself can add safe numbers.
