Experts predicted the future of blockchain used in online voting
Most of the leaders in the global financial market believe that blockchain technologies have already become an integral part of the industry, and their further implementation is the only possible way for organizations to develop, reports Lenta.ru.
Such conclusions were demonstrated by the results of a global study conducted by Deloitte. This system has been used in Moscow for several years, in particular, in the electronic voting system.
The experts interviewed 1,280 senior executives and practitioners in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.
Thus, 73% of the surveyed executives believe that if the blockchain is not implemented, the organization will look less advantageous among competitors. 81% of respondents called blockchain mainstream.
The financial sector believes that blockchain will be actively used around the world in the near future. This technology simplifies payments, the blockchain is convenient and secure.
In Moscow, blockchain technology is used in the electronic remote voting system. Moscow IT specialists mastered this technology in the electoral sphere even before it became a global trend.
Despite the fact that considerable funds have been spent on the development of a remote electronic voting system, in the long term, this is an economically viable solution. The city no longer needs to open thousands of polling stations every year or two.
“Electronic voting has already become a part of the life of Muscovites and, of course, will not go anywhere from it. These technologies are no longer even the future – this is the present, ”the experts said.
Registration for remote electronic voting started in early August. The elections will be held from 17 to 19 September 2021. that adult Muscovites will be able to take part, for this citizens need to log in to the mos.ru portal. You can apply until 23:59 on September 13.
To confirm the identity of the user and the desire to register as an electronic voter, the submission of the application is confirmed by a code from the SMS. After that, the application will be sent to the CEC of Russia for verification, and then the user will receive a notification in his personal account and by e-mail.
The administration drew attention to the fact that citizens who register to participate in electronic voting will be excluded from the lists for voting at polling stations.
