Experts have established the cause of the crash of the newest Il-112V in the Moscow region
Experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) have found out the cause of the crash of the Il-112V transport aircraft near Kubinka near Moscow, which led to the death of all three crew members, the Kommersant newspaper writes.
According to experts, the plane went into an uncontrolled roll after the fire due to the fact that the thrust of the right aileron lost its elasticity due to the high air temperature.
According to the experts' conclusions, immediately after the engine caught fire, the crew tried to extinguish it manually, but this could not be done. The fact is that the liner manufacturer focused the fire extinguishing systems on the engines, and by that time the fire had already spread to the wing. The crew requested an emergency landing, stopped the burning engine and directed the plane towards the airfield. When the aileron thrust collapsed, he stood in a neutral position, as a result, the pilots could not do anything in this situation.
Let us remind you that an experimental Il-112V aircraft crashed on August 17 during preparations for the Army-2021 forum. Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov, pilot Dmitry Komarov, and test flight engineer Nikolai Khludeev were killed. The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded them posthumously the Order of Courage. He noted the courage and dedication of the pilots “in testing and mastering new aviation technology.”
