Apple began blocking apps with unreasonably high subscription costs. Reported by the edition 9to5mac.
The journalists received a letter from the App Store, directed to one of the developers. The text said that his service was being removed from publication in the online store, since the cost of the services he provided was too high. In particular, the moderators concluded that the cost of in-app purchases “does not reflect the value of the features and content offered to the user.”
The authors suggested that in this way Apple's moderators are fighting fraud and too expensive applications. The journalists contacted the recipient of the letter and found out that in the end the developer managed to defend his product, and his service will not disappear from the App Store.
In a conversation with the publication, the specialist said that he managed to prove to the App Review moderators, who are testing applications, that the subscription price is justified. The developer explained that the service uses paid APIs to execute certain scenarios.
Representatives of the App Store did not confirm the assumption that Apple has recently begun to struggle with applications that have a suspiciously high cost. Experts referred to one of the points of the rules for publishing programs, according to which an application in the App Store should not mislead or deceive service users.
Earlier, journalists found out that more ads will appear in the Apple app store. The new block was spotted on the App Store search tab. Currently, third-party ads are shown to iPhone and iPad users in the search results of the app store.
