Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov published an article in Foreign Policy magazine on the aggravated situation in Ukraine. In it, he told how the current situation in Russia threatens.
Antonov stressed that the military development of Ukraine by other states is an existential threat to Russia. Among such countries, the ambassador named NATO members. He also announced the need for urgent action.
“The principle of equal and indivisible security must be restored. It means that no state has the right to strengthen its security at the expense of the security of others, ”the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that the goals he indicated could be easily achieved if there is political will. The development of serious long-term legal guarantees of security will help in the implementation of these plans.
Antonov had earlier warned that Russia would develop “vulnerabilities” for Western countries if they continue to pursue military threats to Russia. He stressed that “we have come to the point where there is nowhere to retreat.”
On December 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about retaliatory measures for NATO's eastward expansion. He noted that they can become very different, but depend on the specific proposals of Russian military experts.
