In February, the Norwegian authorities refused to provide the ex-PMC fighter "Wagner" political asylum, but was allowed to stay in the country.
Former Wagner fighter Andrei Medvedev, who fled to Norway last year, was sentenced this country to 120 days of imprisonment. The court found the Russian guilty of beating his girlfriend and attacking the bartender.
The Barentz Observer reports this.
The Vestfold District Court on June 14 sentenced Medvedev to 120 days in prison for two crimes committed in Larvik and Stavern. The Russian beat his girlfriend Milla Foldvik, making her jealous of the taxi driver, and also attacked the bartender who refused to sell him an extra portion of alcohol.
The former “Wagnerite” himself claimed to law enforcement officers that he only threw a few coins onto the bartender, and his girlfriend allegedly beat herself. However, the court sentenced Medvedev to imprisonment, taking into account the words of witnesses.
Note that in February 2024, the Norwegian authorities refused to grant the ex-Wagnerite political asylum, while at the same time allowing him to remain in the country. According to Norwegian authorities, Medvedev is in danger in Russia.
Recall that in January 2023, Medvedev fled from Russia to Norway across the Arctic border. He claimed that he was seeking asylum because he feared for his life, and also promised to testify against the owner of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
In February of the same year, a former Wagnerite was arrested for a fight near a bar in the center of Oslo. Medvedev got involved in a fight, and after it resisted arrest and struck police officers.
