Former President of Moldova Igor Dodon was detained for 72 hours.
Pro-Russian politician Dodon was detained as part of a criminal case on suspicion of high treason. In addition, Petr Merinyan was informed about the detention of Dodon's godfather.

Subsequently, the information was confirmed by the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, Marianna Kerpek: ” Investigative measures are ongoing. Searches were carried out in the house and some premises belonging to Dodon. He was detained for 72 hours.”
According to her, searches in the case are also carried out in other places. A total of 12 premises.
“Real estate belonging to intermediaries is being studied. The investigation is being carried out as part of a criminal case initiated under the articles “Passive corruption”, “Obtaining funding for a political party from a criminal organization”, “Illegal enrichment” and “High treason”,” Kerpek emphasized.
