Johannes Eggestein played at LASK last season
Werder Bremen is planning an immediate promotion back to the Bundesliga, a kicker with an Austrian past probably does not play a role.
Last season Johannes Eggestein was awarded to LASK and showed his talent in Linz with 12 goals and 7 assists in the Bundesliga.
LASK wanted to sign the striker firmly, but then Vice-President Jürgen Werner said that there was “no chance” for it.
The 23-year-old had to return to Bremen, but has a difficult time there under the new coach Markus Anfang. In the 4-3-3 system there is no place for the striker at the front or on the wing.
The signs point to farewell: “If Jojo makes a decision for himself that he would like to go somewhere else, then he has made the decision for himself. He knows how we think about it,” says Coach Anfang.
With a market value of just under four million euros, however, Eggestein is not a bargain.
