- US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth single-handedly stopped military aid to Ukraine, apparently to please Donald Trump.
- Oleg Rybachuk suggested that chaos reigns in the White House, and all actions are subordinated to the wishes of the US President.
NBC News reported that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the unilateral decision to halt military aid to Ukraine. However, it is unlikely that Donald Trump did not know about it.
This opinion was expressed to 24 Channel by the chairman of the analytical and advocacy agency “Center for Joint Actions”, Ukrainian politician, public figure Oleg Rybachuk, noting that in any case, the US President's team is doing everything to please him. Stopping support for Ukraine is one of these steps.
Hegseth did not make the decision to stop aid to Ukraine on his own
The head of the analytical and advocacy agency “Center for Joint Actions” noted that White House officials communicate very poorly with each other, which is why there is no order in the White House and real chaos reigns.
However, they all look into Trump's mouth, know his wishes and act in line with his general wishes, preferences. And in them we see anything but a desire to help Ukraine. We know about attempts to delay the aid already promised by Congress. Therefore, this is not the decision of the Minister of Defense, he emphasized.
Let us recall that the military aid was stopped for the third time without the approval of Congress. Congressmen (both Republicans and Democrats) were outraged that they were not informed in advance about the aid stop. They are currently checking whether the legislation on providing security aid to Ukraine was violated.
Meanwhile, American political scientist Alexandra Filippenko reported that the Minister of Defense had the right to make such a decision; he only violated the US agreement with Ukraine on the transfer of weapons.
