Donald Trump's family considers him a pathological liar, a complete madman and a cynical pragmatist.
Fred Trump III, the nephew of Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump, told the American press that he would vote for Democrat Kamala Harris over his uncle in the November presidential election. However, he added that he would attend the inauguration if Trump is elected president and would invite his nephew to the ceremony.
BFMTV reports this.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Fred Trump III noted that he has long preferred the Democrats, and voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and then for Joe Biden in 2020. Fred's attitude towards his uncle is shared by his sister, who in 2020 published a book calling Donald Trump a “pathological liar.”
Trump's nephew calls him crazy
In an interview with CNN, Fred Trump said that Donald Trump's first attempt to become US president was perceived by the family as a “publicity stunt” and they were sure that he did not even intend to win.
“I have now decided to support Kamala Harris because the situation has gone beyond insanity and reached an unacceptable point,” Fred Trump III explained.
According to him, Donald Trump's possible return to the White House would threaten democratic freedoms, and Kamala Harris is the only one who can resist it.
“Every family has its crazy uncle. My uncle Donald is completely crazy, and he has already left his mark on the family history,” Fred said in a comment to ABC News.
Donald Trump is not a racist, but a pragmatist
Amid some of Donald Trump's scandalous statements, his nephew said that he does not consider his uncle racist.
“I don't think he's a racist. But sometimes he takes positions that people I think are racist take,” Fred said.
He thinks Donald Trump is more of a pragmatist.
“I just think he's taking advantage of people, whether they're black or not. And as soon as he gets what he wants, which is votes, he throws these people out,” Trump's nephew explained.
He also recalled Donald Trump's statements about people with disabilities made in 2020, which confirm the cynical pragmatism of the presidential candidate.
“These people, all this spending, they should just die,” Fred quoted Donald Trump as saying.
According to Fred Trump, his uncle will never change. The only thing one can hope for is that he “loses and calms down.”
Recall that Harris responded to Trump's statement about her race. The candidate in US Democratic President called the Republican's statements “an old show.”
