After Martin Kocher's move into politics, the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) needs a new scientific director. Director General Eva Liebmann-Pesendorfer is to take over the house on an interim basis.
It is not yet known when the successor will be advertised. The departure of Kocher should not have a direct impact on the scientific work of the institute. The ongoing projects should continue as planned.
WIFO is also looking for a successor
The economic research institute is also currently looking for a new head after Christoph Badelt's announced retirement. The tender deadline ended at the beginning of December.
Five candidates are said to have made it onto the shortlist. Since the application is confidential, no names are known yet. The selection should be made in the first quarter of 2021.
