Europe's best female golfers have successfully defended the Solheim Cup in a continental comparison with the USA. The guests defeated the US team at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, 15:13. For the Europeans it was the seventh triumph in the 17th continental comparison. The Europeans started with a 9: 7 lead in the twelve singles on the final day. The decisive point for the defending champions was won by Emily Pedersen from Denmark to great cheers.

The Solheim Cup is the female counterpart to the Ryder Cup for men. Every two years, the twelve best female golfers from the USA and Europe meet for a continental comparison. The 18th edition of the Solheim Cup will take place in 2023 at the Finca Cortesin Golf Club on the Spanish Costa del Sol.
