The level of gas reserves in Europe has reached record lows.
As of the beginning of February, 85 percent of the fuel volume with which they were filled in the summer had already been used from underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Europe.
This is reported by the press service of the Russian Gazprom with reference to Gas Infrastructure Europe data.
Now the volume of active gas in European UGS is already 27 percent (13.4 billion cubic meters) less than last year’s level.
“84.7 percent (40.5 billion cubic meters) have already been selected from the volume of gas pumped in the summer season,” the report says.
Gazprom also noted that since January 11, 2022, the level of reserves in European underground gas storage facilities has reached record lows over a long-term observation period.
Recall that during the first half of January Gazprom exported 5.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas to foreign countries. This is 41.1% less than in the same period last year.
