Armenian freestyle wrestler, European champion in 2019 Arsen Harutyunyan went to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh. News.am reports this.
The 20-year-old athlete joined the Haiduk volunteer squad. “Victory will be ours. We will do our best to win. God bless us. We will return with a victory, ”Harutyunyan said.
Armed clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh began on September 27. The parties accused each other of escalating the conflict. Azerbaijan said it occupied seven villages that were under enemy control. Armenia denies this information. At the same time, the President of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Arayik Harutyunyan admitted the loss of part of his positions in the Talysh region and in the southern direction.
In addition to the gold of the European Championship-2019, Arsen Harutyunyan also won the bronze of the continental championship in 2020 and the bronze of the youth world championship-2018. He competes in the weight category up to 61 kilograms.
