Euro rate rises to its highest level since 2018

by alex

The exchange rate of the European common currency rose to 1.2295 US dollars on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the euro continued its soaring flight of recent trading days and reached its highest level in more than two and a half years.

Last night, the common currency temporarily rose to just under 1.2295 US dollars. The price was last even higher in April 2018. The euro stayed at a high level in the morning. The European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference rate on Tuesday afternoon at $ 1.2259.

The currency market continued to show widespread weakness in the dollar, which in turn gave the euro a boost. One of the causes is a generally friendly mood on the financial markets, which is a burden on comparatively safe investments such as the US dollar.

Since the beginning of the week, the Brexit trade agreement and a new state corona aid package in the USA have been creating a buying mood on the markets.
