EU will not comment on US elections until vote count is complete

The European Union will not comment on the situation in the presidential elections in the United States until the completion of the vote count, TASS reports, referring to the statement of the official representative of the European Commission, Eric Mamer.

“It is necessary to trust the authorities of this country, which has a longer democratic tradition than some EU countries,” he stressed.

In his opinion, one should be patient while awaiting the results, since “we are talking about a huge country the size of a continent, where hundreds of millions of people voted.”

It is noted that Mamer during the briefing refused to answer any questions regarding the US elections.

Earlier it was reported that the Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Jansa congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election to the presidency, although the outcome of the US elections is still unknown.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Policy Committee, Norbert Röttgen, announced that Germany was not ready for the re-election of the current US president.

In turn, the leader of the French National Rally Party Marine Le Pen believes that Trump's victory is more optimal for France than his rival Joe Biden.
